A screw feeder's discharge rate is completely controlled by the design parameters. As the screw shaft rotates, material moves forward along the trough bottom of the conveyor as the blade pushes it forward. Gravity and friction between the material and the groove walls prevent the material from rotating with the blade of the screw conveyor.
